By interacting with our neighborhood as a community arts center, we continually forge new possibilities for dialogue and cooperation. Look for our recent work through the following partnerships and collaborations:
• The Aurora Learning Circle, part of the Denver Foundation’s Strengthening Neighborhood Program.
• Member of the Aurora Arts District. Participation in Art on the Fax (second Friday art walks), www.auroraartsdistrict.com
• COMPASS after- school programs partnership.
• Original Aurora Renewal Board.
• Aurora Chamber of Commerce—Business Committee for the Arts.
• The annual Art Director’s Club of Denver Paper Couture fashion show.
• Rotary Youth Leadership Awards Program.
• Murals for the Aurora Housing Authority.
• Mural for Morehead Recreation Center.
• Two summer projects with the Colorado Film School.
• Partnerships with local colleges and universities—Community College of Aurora, Metropolitan State College, UCD.
• Traveling exhibits of artworks by DAVA youth to Aurora Fox Art Center, Martin Luther King, Jr. Library, Rights for all People, Denver International Airport, Community College of Aurora and City of Aurora buildings.
• Participation in The Collection, an Original Aurora Renewal community art project with artist Phil Bender.
• 2009 collaborations with the Aurora Symphony, Aurora Public Schools, Colfax Community Network, and the Pastel Society of Colorado.
• Artworks by DAVA youth have been donated to auctions to support organizations such as the Aurora Fox Art Center, Rocky Mountain PBS, and the Aurora Education Foundation.
