A Better Life
Artworks by DAVA youth with guest artists Adrianna Santiago, Luzia Ornelas and Leo Tanguma
In conjunction with the Biennale of the Americas in Denver, the exhibition explores the themes of education, cultural and economic sustainability and poverty reduction through art. The exhibition features photographs, ceramics and installations by DAVA youth, created with guest artists Adrianna Santiago and Luzia Ornelas. Artworks by muralist Leo Tanguma related to social and cultural issues will also be included.
Artists' Talks Thursday July 22nd- 6-8pm with special guest Ashara Ekundayo, and artists Luzia Ornelas and Adrianna Santiago.
Join artivist and community grower Ashara Ekundayo for a multi-media conversation on cultivating educational and cultural sustainability to create pathways out of poverty through media arts and food justice! She will share current projects including the GetFRESH Youth Program at The Growhaus as well her role as mother, educator and guerrilla curator in Denver for the past 24 years.
Closing Reception with food grown by students: August 13, 4-8pm.
