Our teaching staff are working artists and arts educators committed to activating a powerful youth voice in our community. A multicultural team spirit provides a pathway to learning together, with young people gaining confidence in their own abilities to bring ideas to fruition.
Our staff has strengthened strategies in combining arts learning with education, successfully incorporating projects that link art to science, history, current events, and literacy (poetry, script-writing, personal narratives). While we stress timeliness, respect for others, and active communication in our programs, we are also offering kids new models of success through the arts. Once our students master this process, it belongs to them forever. In our experience, the consistent presence of caring adults in students’ lives goes a long way towards building strong, self-sufficient young people.
